THE IDEA

Philoxenia is the Greek concept of hospitality and we paid homage to the roots of The Coffee Club by bringing it to life in this reinvention. Our brief was to open up the offer to new, younger customer groups and to increase takeaway sales. Our design strategy started with the layout, breaking a typical location into several zones according to noise levels - leaving a quiet area at the back for some customers and a noisy, accessible area at the front for families. The planning allowed for a walk-in takeaway area that could sell onto the street, and a long communal table as a touch of Greek generosity.
